Ken Carter 19 years of Service to Southcrest
Ken Carter is celebrating his 19th year at Southcrest. In 1997, Bro David flew to Oklahoma and asked Ken to consider joining the ministry team here. Ken and Patsy felt called to come check us out and they are grateful they did.
“This is the friendliest congregation that we have ever been a part of. The church knows how to treat its staff.”
Ken worked in Education and Administration for 14 years before shifting his focus to Adults, Senior Adults, Men & Women. His favorite part of this job is starting new Sunday School classes and working to help them prosper. He also enjoys spending time with Southcrest’s Empty Nesters/Senior Adults on various trips and banquets.
“I stay here because of the love of the people, working with a great staff, and knowing that this is where God wants me to serve at this time in my life.”
If you are involved with any of the adult classes or activities here, Ken has likely played a big role in your spiritual development. When you see him, please thank him for his work and dedication.
Once upon a time, Ken was the first-chair coronet player in his high school band. These days, he enjoys hunting and fishing. If you have other fun hobby ideas, let him know! After being a football referee for the last 48 years, he is hanging up his whistle and is open to new possibilities.
